Privacy at every layer
Search without a trace
Every query goes through Cloaki's proxy, not directly to Google. Your IP address and device are never exposed to the YouTube API.
On-device history
Watch history, search history, favorites, subscriptions, and saved playlists live in an encrypted store on your device. Enable optional backup in Settings if you want to preserve your data across device restores.
Proxied thumbnails
Even thumbnail images are served through the Cloaki server, so Google's CDN never sees your requests.
Tracker blocking
Cloaki blocks third-party trackers and analytics requests, so advertisers cannot profile your viewing sessions.
No account required
Browse, search, and subscribe without a Google account. Cloaki keeps your own private subscription list on your device.
Related videos stay in Cloaki
Tap any related video suggestion in the player and it opens directly in Cloaki — complete with watch history tracking and privacy protection. Nothing gets handed off to a separate website or app.
Details that matter
Share videos with a private link
The share button in the player generates a cloaki.app/watch link. Anyone who taps it is taken straight into Cloaki — or shown the video details with an option to download the app.
Preview before you watch
Press and hold any video thumbnail to cycle through preview frames — the same way YouTube previews work on desktop. Release to stay where you are, or tap to open. All previews are fetched through the Cloaki proxy.
Open any YouTube link in Cloaki
Hold a YouTube link in Safari, Messages, or any other app and choose Cloaki from the share sheet. The video opens instantly in the player — no copy-paste required.
Your choice of layout
Switch between a full-width card view and a compact list view across every tab — search, favorites, channels, watch history, continue watching, and home. Card view is the default. The preference is saved automatically.
Built for everyone
Cloaki works fully with VoiceOver — every control is clearly labelled and every video is playable without sight. Text scales with your Dynamic Type setting, and animations respect Reduce Motion. Interface labels are localised, including a full Japanese translation.
